Recycle your
used Ink Cartridges and Cell Phones!
|
Wilmington Middle School is now participating in
Cartridges for
Kids , an innovative
fundraiser that pays our school cash for empty inkjet, laser, fax and copier
cartridges and used cell phones. There is no cost to the school to
participate and absolutely no selling involved!
The primary goal of this program is to
provide environmentally friendly
fundraising
that is safe, educational and pays cash allowing us to fund projects that
are a priority.
It is currently estimated that over 250
million pounds of empty cartridges are thrown into our landfills annually
and this figure continues to rise. Recent reports suggest that by 2005 there
could be as many as 500 million cell phones headed for our landfills.
Together, with empty cartridges, this transforms
into about 200,000 tons of waste which is significantly reduced by
recycling. Participation in CFK is beneficial for both our school and the
environment.
Please send in your used cartridges and cell
phones and place them in the donation box near the main stair case on the
first floor. (right next to the Lucky Pencil Machine.)
This is an ongoing event, so please spread
the word to family, friends and co-workers. Together we can help the
environment in addition to the students of Wilmington Middle School.
(Please send in the original packing if
possible.)
